River Street is one of the most charming places to spend a day wandering around downtown Savannah. It runs adjacent to the port, and its nine blocks have nearly 100 shops, restaurants, pubs, art galleries, and even the occasional festival. On March 7 & 8, hang out and enjoy Sweets on the Street. It's a First Friday and Saturday event with artist booths, entertainment, and a public showing of Willie Wonka followed by fireworks.
