Braves Vs. Astros: Sunday, August 5, 2012

Here's what you do Sunday August 5, 2012.

Go Check out Braves V. Astros Sunday Afternoon.

Sunday is all about Braves baseball.  With the summer coming to a close, what could be better?  We recommended back on July 23 that you go to the Braves All-American Blood Drive.  If you did you have a free tickets now for the game.  Awesome.  If not, then you can get tickets here.  We recommend sections 107 - 115, right there at the dugout.  The game is on at 1:35pm at Turner Field.  Go get a dog or two and some suds and see why it's America's favorite pass time.  ($90 per person, plus $20 for drinks and snacks).

Get your seats in sections 105, 107, 109, 111, or 113.

They have some pretty cool stuff going on at the game on Sunday.  Especially for kids.  So, take your favorite youngster with you and enjoy the game together.  Here's the game highlights:

  • Alumni Sundays
Meet Braves Alumni Marquis Grissom and Vic Correll in the Fan Plaza prior to every Sunday home game.
  • Kids Run the Bases

Presented By Children's Healthcare of Atlanta
Kids 14 and under are invited to take the field after the game and run the same bases as Heyward, McCann, and the rest of their favorite Braves.
  • Ultimate Kids Day

A great day for kids at the ballpark! They'll have the chance to participate in a pre-game parade, play free games at Scouts Alley, visit the Braves Museum for free, and much more!

Here's What You Do Sunday:

First:  We like to sleep in on Sundays.  Today should be no exception.  Make some good coffee, grab the New York Times and a croissant, and stay in bed.   11 is pretty respectable.  If you're an over achiever, shoot for getting out of bed at noon.  :-)

Second:  Braves play here!  Head on down to Turner Field.  The games starts at 1:35.  So, try to get there a little early, maybe around 1.  Get your lunch ball park style.  Hot dogs, a big plastic cup of beer, pretzels.  The whole bit.  ($90 per person, plus $20 for lunch).

Third:  Nap!  The game's gonna take it out of you.  Go recuperate with a summer afternoon nap.  You deserve it.  Follow the perfect bed rules.

Finally:  Go Coastal!   Summer time is seafood time.  Here's what you do.  Head on over to Goin' Coastal in Virginia Highland.

Go Coastal for Dinner Sunday Night.
From Goin':
"GOIN'COASTAL is a sustainable seafood joint. We feature only the highest quality seafood from sources, either fished or farmed that can exist over the long term without compromising species' survival or the health of the ecosystem. So why does this matter?

1. With over 75% of the world fisheries either fully fished or over fished, we believe the choices we make will help to enhance the seafood marketplace for all consumers.
2. Sustainable fishing practices are not only environmentally responsible they yield the highest quality seafood.
Thank you for supporting the sustainable seafood movement by GOIN COASTAL. Now, stop surfing the web and come eat some great seafood!"

That kinda attitude toward seafood is something we can get behind my friends...

The menu at Goin' changes all the time.  In fact, it's written up new on the chalk board every day.  Some standards are the mussels, and calamari.  But go with an adventurous spirit and an empty stomach, and let the sea breeze point you in the direction of delicious.  ($40 per person).
