|Groove with Joe Gransden at Cafe 290 on Monday at 8:30.|
Atlanta's got a great jazz scene. On Monday night, partake at Cafe 290 at an 8:30 show with the Joe Gransden 16 piece big band. Big band is growing in popularity throughout the country. And, there's no better guy to be your host than Joe. Listen to a little here on Spotify. Make sure to make reservations for the show, and get ready for some Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Count Basie, and Ray Charles. Check out more info here. ($10 per person plus about $15 for drinks).

Here's what you do Monday:
First: Mid morning today, you'll be checking out the Fabulous Fox Theater. So, just to make sure you settle into the week well, have breakfast at Livingston across the street at the Georgia Terrace Hotel. Have a hot tea and a scone, and pick up the paper for a read. Or, you could get a great history of the Fox from Amazon here. (about $10 per person).

Second: Take a walking tour of the Fabulous Fox Theater. It's hosted by the Atlanta Preservation Center. They say about the tour:
"Explore the mysterious interior of the Fabulous Fox Theatre. This is the theatre whose dramatic rescue from demolition changed Atlanta’s attitudes toward preservation. One of the few remaining exotic movie palaces of the 1920s, its Middle Eastern and Egyptian designs create a spectacle of grandeur. This site is a perfect example of a Living Landmark preserving its past and being an active and important player in the performing arts scene of Atlanta. It hosts local, national and international acts, helps other theaters with preservation and does important outreach work to ensure the next generation of patrons."The tour is from 10 to 11:30am. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for seniors and students, and you can get them at the door.

Third: Lunch at Prime at Lenox Mall. I had lunch at Prime recently. A fusion finlandia vodka martini house-infused with pineapple. The cheese plate, which came with daily selected cheeses, dates, walnuts, and sliced pear. Jumbo lump crab cake and mac & cheese. Prime's mac & cheese is amazing. Sharing works great. Go give it a try. ($20 per person).
|Lunch at Prime will get you ready for an afternoon of shopping at Lenox Mall.|
Fifth: Nap. All that shopping will take it out of you. Head on home for a nap. Follow the perfect bed rules.
Sixth: Have a little dinner at home, while you get ready for the Jazz. Try the hot bar at whole foods for a quick meal. They have great stuff, like mediterranean chicken, baked whiting, grilled veggies, and everyone loves the mac and cheese. Get a bottle of Bogle petit syrah for company. ($15 per person including wine).
Finally: Cafe 290 for some Big Band. Go hang out with Joe! ($10 per person for tickets and about $15 for drinks).
